One of my favorite parts about shooting weddings is the potential for long term relationships. I love that you’re shooting the beginning of a new life, a new family. I have so much fun re-connecting with people who’s weddings I’ve shot and doing family portraits or baby pictures and continuing the bond that we formed during the whole wedding planning/shooting process.
Recently I was contacted by Casey Cooper about shooting her wedding next year in Auburn and was thrilled. Casey’s older sister, Brit, was my first wedding ever, over 2 years ago now. Hearing Casey say that she knew all along that she would be using me for her wedding was such an awesome thing, and getting to hang out with the Coopers, see Josh and Brit and now photograph Casey as she starts her family is going to be amazing.
This weekend we braved the cold and shot some engagement portraits with Robert and Casey here in Birmingham. Here are some polaroids…film to come (hopefully before Christmas!!).

Meet Billy and Ashley! It’s always fun to reconnect with old friends and to get to be a part of their new journey that they’re embarking on in marriage! Billy and I used to skateboard together back in college all of the time, so it was awesome to get a chance to hang out for a day here in Birmingham and to meet his awesome fiancée, Ashley. I can’t wait to see the film from this shoot…we went out to a beautiful field and played around. Billy even brought his guitar out for a little afternoon seranade! Congratulations Billy and Ashley! I’m so happy for you guys and so excited to get to play a part!

This morning I had the pleasure of hanging out with Kimberly and Daniel and shooting some engagement photos at Jemison Park. The weather was fantastic, the leaves were falling and Kimberly and Daniel were a blast! These are some of the polaroids from this morning…film to come. We surprised them with a mini-engagement video complements of Paul and Kinora Films which we’ll post once it’s ready (we have to mail the super 8 off) so get pumped about that too!

This weekend I got to shoot the wedding of Jonathan and Louise here in Birmingham. It was a gorgeous wedding, perfect weather and a beautiful bride and groom…and we had a blast. I’ve been traveling so much that it was refreshing to shoot a wedding here in town for a change. Here are the polaroids…shipped the film off today, can’t wait to see it! Congratulations Jonathan and Louise! Hope you’re enjoying St. Lucia!

Here are some polaroids from the beautiful wedding of Sean and Amy. Sorry for the lack of details…I must be brief…I leave in the morning for Atlanta, to fly to New York, to fly to Brussels, to land in Cairo for 2 weeks, after which I fly to Nairobo and then repeat in reverse. I might be online and blogging, but I’m not banking on the most consistant internet, so there’s also the possibility that I will be absent for the better part of a month.
Congratulations Sean and Amy! Goodbye for a little while blog world!
